BMW i8 Availability Information
There isn’t very much detailed information on the release of the BMW i8, except that it’s aimed at late 2013 / early 2014.
The BMW i3 is slated to launch in September of 2013, and the i8 was always going to follow, so late 2013 might be wishing on a star.
2014 is safe.
BMW has also not provided info on what countries the i8 electric supercar will be available in when it launches. A member of the BMW i8 Forum from Australia said his dealer told him he could order an i8 electric supercar in 2014.
BMW i8 Spyder
Originally announced as being available in 2015, BMW has run into technical challenges with the BMW i8 Spyder. Integrating the carbon fiber reinforced structural shell into a convertible format has proved more difficult than expected. BMW has no set time frame for the i8 Spyder availability.
