In this YouTube video, Bloomberg compares the Tesla Model S to the BMW i8.

In my opinion, the 2 can't really be compared since one is a full electric vehicle and the other is a plug-in hybrid. Also, one is a full on sports car, and the other is a sporty family sedan. The comparison would've been more accurate if they had pitted the Tesla Roadster against the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid. At least you'd have 2 vehicles targeted at the same audience at least.

The i8 is certainly better looking than the Model S. The 22 mile electric range leaves something to be desired, but on the other hand, Ford has sold thousands of the C-max Energi and Fusion Energi which goes to show many people's daily driving would be doable on a 22 mile pure electric range.
